The short answer is: They don't and they won't be able to.
So, unless the Technologically immortal humans are benevolent to the not yet technologically immortal this will set up a conflict not easily resolved between the masses and the technologically immortal.
In other words the level of knowledge of someone literally Technologically immortal (someone living 200 to 1000 to 5000 to 10,000 years with mind and body intact) would be 10 to 20 times the degree of knowledge of the average young person of today.
So, literally, there is no way to compete with that. So, unless the Technologically immortal (who would tend to be very wealthy for a variety of reasons) were benevolent, then this would or could be another cause of the extinction of everyone including the immortals
