Microsoft thinks that the vulnerability shouldn't have been revealed by Google or anyone until a Zero day patch was created by Microsoft. However, when will that be?
Also, if you don't know you are being attacked, wouldn't you like to know it is happening whether or not there is a patch?
This is my point of view. It's not like people all over aren't being attacked around the world through the zero day vulnerability anyway every day there is a zero day.
Wouldn't you rather know about the vulnerability whether you have a patch or not?
