In learning to be kind to others you are also learning to be kind to yourself

The opposite also can be true "When you learn to be kind to yourself you will also learn how to be kind to others."

Becoming civilized starts with being kind to yourself and to others. Civilization depends upon people helping people every day.

Otherwise civilization wouldn't work at all worldwide.

So, in learning to be kind to yourselves and others you are becoming more civilized from an earth perspective but also from a Galactic perspective likely too. 

This doesn't mean you let people walk all over you either. It just means you are as kind as you can safely be to all around you including yourselves in any given situation.

Obviously, survival must come first. If you don't survive whatever situation you are in being kind has no meaning in some ways. But, when you are safe enough, Be Kind.

This has always been one of the things I live by. Be as kind as I can be and still survive my life.
