The changes in the Weather for Northern California

I was talking with a friend from Mt. Shasta today and he grew up in Southern Califronia in Palos verdes and I grew up in Glendale mostly also in Los Angeles County I believe.

We were talking about the changes to the weather here on the northern California coast and I was mentioning how the weather is changing to something different than it was before. For example in the past there was more fog the last few years but it's changing to something else now. Now the fog comes in at night but almost always burns off during the day unlike before. The good thing about this is it keeps the temperatures down to the 60s which is nice so we are not cooking like some people are here in the U.S. already.

However, at the beach it is strange because of the winds so there are white caps almost all the times now when I go there and fairly large waves which is also unusual. Then there are these mini-rogue waves which are less than a foot or two high but bring the water up to 100 feet further on the beaches than before.

My friend who has a master's degree from UCLA was saying how global warming is increasing the winds exponentially and how a Fire on Spring Hill was really bad last night from the winds. He sat outside and watched the fire burn and hoped it wasn't going to come burn up his property in Mt. Shasta last night and a neighbor of his took his backhoe tractor to the fire to help put it out as well.

But, at least 60 people or more were able to put out the fire enough to contain it by morning after fighting the fire all night long. So, hopefully if the winds aren't too bad the fire will stay contained on Spring Hill in the Mt. Shasta area.
