I first really found this out when I was trying to edit the memories series the first 11 parts around 2000 AD.
After I had spent over 100 to 200 hours trying to edit it I realized I really wasn't cut out to be an editor. I realized I'm an idea person but when it comes to editing this just doesn't work for me. Why?
Because I find what I write are sort of like my children and when I edit I often feel like I'm harming my children (writing Children) and then I feel terrible. I then realized I'm almost better just leaving everything as I have written it pretty much because what I'm saying comes through all the errors (spelling and context and everything else).
So, I've come to see myself as a story teller like my father and grandfather and likely my Great Grandfather too who was a Captain for the Northern Army out of Kansas then in the Civil War between 1960 and 1865. He was born in the 1840s. You see, before radio and TV people entertained each other with stories they told each other. and I think I carry on this story teller tradition of the men in my father's family. However, that doesn't mean I'm a writer it means I'm a story teller so if you listened to what I write live you would then better understand what I'm saying here.
So, the power of what I'm saying comes through better I realized if I leave things pretty much just like they came through from God and the Universe through me to you.
