In some ways I was a prepper in 1980 by the definition now. Then we were called "Survivalists" but luckily for me and my family I was wrong about our governments collapse then in 1980.
I believed that the financial Expense of the Viet Nam War was going to Bankrupt the U.S. at that time. So, i bought non-perishable food and buried it in a 50 gallon drum under ground on my land (2 1/2 acres).
However, what happened then to actually prevent U.S. Bankruptcy was help from other countries we had helped survive world War II after it was over like England and France and Germany and Japan and others loaned us money here in the U.S. so we wouldn't go bankrupt in 1980 or around there.
So, I'm very grateful I was wrong then because it didn't force the government to completely collapse and go bankrupt from overspending on the Viet nam War then.
Will our government Collapse now because of Trump and the Republicans?
We will see.
Definitely the Democrats have no reason at all to open the government unless it returns to being a democracy. This much I know for sure.
So, maybe if you are a Prepper now it makes even more sense than it did in 1980?
We don't know the full answer to this question yet.
But, it does help to be prepared for anything if you can.
Sort of like the Boy Scout motto: "BE PREPARED" (for anything)
