After seeing the articles on Monkey language deciphered I also recalled a program I saw on Crows on PBS. It was how crows are very social and often stay with their young until they are 3 to 5 years old so they pass down many different traits, one of which is the ability to speak different sounds of meaning. For example, the really awful sounds you hear whenever you walk by them is the sound of "Humans, Danger!" So, the awful squawking you here whenever you are near them is specific to a call they make to tell other crows there are humans nearby and that they are dangerous to crows.
However, researchers out of view behind blinds or with hidden video cameras have isolated many other sounds that have other meanings that crows use for communication beyond the "Humans Danger!" Squawking you here if they see you.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
