If we look back to all the nuclear deals between the west and the Soviet Union, the Soviet Union gained a great deal from these talks always. And the number one thing in my opinion was world prestige which like a movie star is always bankable in a variety of ways.
Now because Russia is aligned with Iran and supporting the Shias against the Sunnis we have a similar situation once again. Iran can pretend (covertly) it has nuclear weapons (Russia doesn't have to pretend) and this literally scares the shit out of the Middle East and Europe and Africa.
Iran also has a very powerful well organized Army and Militias throughout the Shia World.
This is only going to make country like Saudi Arabia (secretly) purchase nuclear weapons to defend itself from Iran.
So, I see what I'm writing about here as the actual biggest problem to do with Iran and not at all what is publicly stated.
