If you look at Republican controlled states right now you will often see legislation passed now where abortions are being prevented more and more by these Republican majority states. But, the supreme court cannot rule on any of these rulings for now because Scalia has not been replaced and the present court is deadlocked 4-4.
So, this means preventing abortions for now, is the law of these states even though Roe Versus Wade has not been overturned by the Supreme Court.
Part of this is also White Supremicists tend to be Republican or further to the right. So, they also would be behind this as well.
Whether this will tend to Blow up the United States like the Civil war did in 1860 is anyone's guess. However, I do believe it is irresponsible for the Congress to prevent a new Supreme court justice to be put in place because it damages the changes of the stability of our whole nation in the meantime staying together in all this.
I can see why Republican White people want women to be forced to have children once they are pregnant. It's mostly about being able to vote in another Republican president by having enough white Republican babies to replace all the White Republicans dying every day now.
So, for Republicans I see the logic in this even though I also believe women have the right to control of their own bodies in this.
Basically, if you don't want to have a baby why should you be forced to and then torture this poor kid the rest of his or her life because you hate them because you didn't want them to be born because you were too young or too poor then and having this kid ruined your life ever after?
People who should have been aborted tried to kill me more than once during the 1950s. I completely understand why some kids should have been aborted even then.
I'm just grateful to have survived those times at all.
