Walter Egan - Magnet and Steel

I had just broken up with my girlfriend that I intended to marry. I was lost. I was 21 years old and a computer programmer in Los Angeles then. Little did I know how much the 1960s and early 1970s would turn my whole life upside down.

I was driving my new 1968 Metallic Blue Camaro that I loved north to Shasta Springs then in summer of 1969. Little did I know where my life would go then (an entirely different future than I could ever have imagined). I was driving alone the 600 plus miles to shasta alone this time and listening to the radio play "magnet and steel."

Pivotal times with pivotal changes in my life. Unbelievable changes were coming for me (both good and bad).

I feel privileged to have grown up listening to 70’s music. It will last forever!

I accept being old now... because it means I got to be young then... It was the best of times...
