The Compassion of Buddhism

In Growing up in a Church that I would describe as "Mystical Christianity" and seeing Christians of different churches and religions around me I found a sort of racism that I didn't like in many of them.

So, in my 20s I was looking for a better way than this. I found it in Tibetan Buddhism through the type of Compassion that Buddha started teaching about 500 years before Jesus arrived in Jerusalem and Nazareth. In fact, it is my thought that Buddhism might have helped lead Jesus to the Creation of the Christian Church in order to overcome the revenge saying of the Middle East which is: "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" which prevented something like Christian Brotherhood from existing while people were like this.

So, in Buddhism it is compassion and in Christianity it is Forgiveness which each are suited to different cultural approaches to the suffering of life as a human being.

In fact, Enlightenment comes from recognizing the suffering of yourself and all other beings. By Recognizing everyone's suffering you realize you are not alone in your suffering and it's almost like "Misery loves company" in some ways. But, the end result of realizing you are not the only one suffering often is Enlightenment and civilization and cultures around the world.

So, Compassion and Forgiveness are the very essence of human civilization itself.

When Compassion and Forgiveness are NOT present people return to the "Law of the Jungle" and people cannot remain human when they live the "Law of the Jungle" because everyone is soon dead who lives this way.

"He who lives by the sword often dies by the sword" which is what we all see every day a lot around the world.

So, compassion for yourself and all others because we all suffer together as human beings here on earth can bring your personal enlightenment and the enlightenment of Billions of people on earth and lead to a Golden Age of Enlightenment.

By God's Grace
