about 2012 I went there in winter and 5 feet of snow came down while we were there which was pretty amazing to watch. The Snow plows were manicuring the ski runs 24 hours a day with that much snow coming down for 2 or 3 days time.
This time a week ago Sunday it was Father's Day so my wife and I went up there where I used to ski with my son and my daughter and her boyfriend around this time. However, now my daughter has married a lawyer in Europe and she lives in the Alps there instead with her husband and daughter.
My wife a week ago Father's Day had a nice Brunch there at the Timberline Hotel which has many memories of staying there with my children and later my wife and my youngest daughter over 10 years ago now mostly. I think the last time I skied on the Timberline Snow Runs it must have been before 2014 or so before my appendix burst in 2015 and this gave me a hernia.
I didn't ski much after that because falling down with the type of hernia I had up until march 25th of this year when I had a Robotic Hernia Surgery could have been fatal if I fell wrong. So, when I did ski I wore a wide elastic belt to prevent injury while skiing to prevent anything fatal from happening.
But, I had to wait until I found the perfect doctor to fix this hernia because I didn't want Stainless steel staples in my stomach muscles and a 20% chance of permanent debilitating pain.
So, finally my Cardiologist and Robotic Hernia surgeon agreed I could likely survive the surgery so I had it in March of 2026.
So, it's a real relief to still be alive after all that.
But, the view from Timberline Lodge if it isn't snowing or raining is out of this world. Also, the altitude there is 6500 feet so be careful when you first get out of your vehicle to adjust to the altitude.
Wonderful place with many memories for me and my family skiing and visiting there and wonderful meals at the various restaurants there. Also, this place was built in 1937 which makes it an amazing antique kind of place too that you just don't see very much anymore with huge trees visible from 1937 that are a part of the design of this amazing place.
Visit it any time of year that you can!
