For example, I knew someone in the construction trades who ONLY worked for Cash. Did any of this cash get reported? Maybe and maybe not depending upon many factors. This was during the 1980s.
Another friend of mine was a carpenter who never paid into social security because he didn't believe in it by working only for cash. However, this eventually killed him when he got skin cancer and wasn't eligible for Medicare or Social Security.
So, even though people in this country often work for cash in many different environments when they get of retirement age it often kills them (or they keep working until they die because they must in order to survive even one more day).
So, if you are one of the people who only work for cash you might want to think about what you are going to do when you get too old to work anymore. Because otherwise you will just die and that's all.
