The first lesson I learned regarding loaning money to friends is "DON'T DO IT!" Why?
Because you will likely destroy your relationship with them about 50% of the time when you go to collect that money.
So, what I learned is if you are going to give money to anyone. Just give it! never loan it.
If you need the money to survive yourself don't give it away or you might die.
I have seen people give away their last dollar to people and then often they don't survive very well or else they are gone in a few weeks time.
So, only give money when you can afford to live without it.
This is a very good rule of thumb to stay friends with your relatives and friends.
