Having a child for the average person in the developed world is more like slitting your own throat more than anything else

 Right now worldwide having children is a rich man's game (at least in developed nations with things like some kind of Social Security.

However, in poor nations that are 3rd world where there is no social security welfare net at all if you don't have a lot of children you are likely doomed to die by 40 or 50 at the latest because you have no way to support yourself when you get old and infirm and you have no medical care you can afford anyway. So, unless you have children working who can take care of you you likely will die between 35 and 50 years old anyway.

So, at least in Developed countries having a child is ONLY a rich man or rich woman's game. Without enough wealth having a child can completely destroy your adult life for anything but working about 12 hours a day 7 days a week unless you are wealthy to begin with.

Unfortunate but True! 

This is why the Birth rate is dropping like a rock in Europe, Asia, America and many other places as well and as things get more expensive Gasoline and diesel and food this will progressively get even worse than it is now the way things look.

However, if the Straight of Hormuz actually opens like Iran and the U.S. say then this might help some too.
