And he was telling me that at least 2 out of 5 new jobs have been stopped because of AI. He was also telling me that long time workers there at Intel are watched carefully and if they use more and more AI to become more efficient they likely will keep their jobs and if not they might be terminated.
He said that because of this most of the new college graduate interns have been stopped by Intel and instead they are trying to keep the over 35 year olds busier and busier by making them use more and more AI for their jobs so they don't have to hire anyone new. So, this is happening too at places where they actually design chips and manufacture chips
He was saying that most companies on earth either design chips or they manufacture chips.
And that Intel is pretty unique in that it both designs and manufactures it's chips for sale all over the world.
