Imagine an apartment building falling on top of you at the beach made of Water. Are you going to survive this? maybe not if you are too close to it when the apartment building sized Wave hits the shore.
Big waves are incredibly beautiful. However, during 25 to 35 foot waves especially during storms in the winter (even if professional surfers are surfing them from Jet ski pulls they often where I live bring seaweed onto the porches of nearby homes and hopefully don't break the front windows.
So, what I'm saying here is that this can be so extreme that paved roads nearby can have about 10 feet of water coming across them from some sneaker waves during a storm.
Most locals know to stay back from these waves simply because they are used to this one or more days per year to begin with.
However, because this is so beautiful and awesome to watch this is when Tourists die the most because they have no real idea what is going on and that these waves might take their lives any time of year the right type of storm way out to sea somewhere or close hits the shore in a big wave.
So, unless you know enough about things like this at the ocean then often you are just dead soon within 10 minutes or so when you are pulled out to sea.
Please be careful this weekend on all southwest facing beaches in California being hit by gigantic waves.
