Some issues run too deep. presently what time travel is used for is to prevent Nuclear holocaust. So, every time a nation or terrorist blows up one or more cities or the whole planet, that is retroactively removed from the time line.
So, even though some people will remember dying in a nuclear holocaust and have bad dreams about this it isn't happening on this particular timeline because we have operatives at a United Nations level sworn to secrecy to prevent all civilization killing events ongoing.
This is something useful to be aware of. Why?
Because knowing this changes a lot how someone functions in their lives.
