would aliens cause religions to be undermined all over the world? Sometimes "yes" I believe. It really depends upon the person who believes something

 Some religious adherents, as well as some nonbelievers, maintain that the existence of life on other planets might undermine many faiths because it would complicate assertions that humans are unique. But others argue the opposite.

I think that the existence of aliens from other planets wouldn't necessarily end all religions  but the worst problem would be  for people. I think seeing and actually talking or communicating with aliens would be the biggest problem for most people.

How many people have have you met that  never traveled more than 25 miles from where they were born here on earth? I have met several of these over the years.

I find the most interesting are people from places like Asia. I remember talking to someone who spoke in a church I was attending that Sunday from India or Nepal who was showing movies and slides of where they were from.

I asked this person how long he had lived here. He said I have lived here all my life and all my parents and grandparents and great Grandparents have lived here too.

I asked: "Are you the first person to leave your home and travel? He said: "Yes. I'm the first of my family to leave this house and area in about 1000 years time except for being forced to fight in wars the last 1000 years or more."

Though you and I might have traveled the world many people haven't left within 25 miles of where they were born and grew up worldwide. Without the experience of Worldwide Travel seeing and meeting aliens for many people around the world would create a psychotic break for many of them that they might or might not ever recover from. 

When I personally went to India in 1985 the culture shock was almost unbearable for me personally. it was more like being on another planet or being 1000 years ago out in the country more than anything else. I was completely unprepared for people who had never been to school a day in their lives or lived according to Magical Thinking like their ancestors had for thousands of years already.

I realized then we all live in a Disneyland kind of place here in the U.S. because it isn't really like this anywhere else on earth. Not like this! 

So, if the question was: "Would actually meeting aliens mess up religions?

It could.

Imagine a guest speaker at a religious meeting who was a time traveler for example speaking to people who believe in fate in that their whole lives (every moment) is planned out for them.

Would these people be okay or just have a psychotic break right then.

Once again, it would depend upon the person in that audience.

Because some might never recover ever from hearing this alien speak or communicate with them in some way.

Why?

Because humans are very fragile in some ways if they haven't been in enough other countries to begin with and learned to deal with that.
