Writing is often the best thing to do when problems occur in your life

I was thinking about this today.

One of the most difficult things for me to survive (at least psychologically) was my divorce in 1994. I had been married to the same woman for 14 years and we also had a 5 year old daughter together that I was worried about then for a variety of reasons. So, this breakup I knew I might not survive because my health was failing too at the time. I was 46 years old in 1994.

Here is some of what I wrote then to survive these times:

I found that poems and Haiku of my own design helped me to make more sense of my life then so I could go on living. also, I learned this from friend who had a master's degree in Psychology and who was a High School Teacher at the time.

"THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS ONLY OPPORTUNITIES"

When you can wrap your head and your heart around this idea you can see the world differently and find ways to survive in it.

Otherwise you get so overwhelmed by your problems you might not survive things like Divorce or death in your family or in your friends.

My experience of Divorce after 14 years of marriage would be that my family died including myself, my wife and my children.

Because we were all very different people after that divorce than we were before this.

Here are some of the things I wrote back then to keep going.

They might be hard to read because they were one of the first pages in 1999 likely that I created online with an online acquaintance in Canada then, a lady.
