But, the heaviest rains look to be in Arizona right now. And it is moving Eastward across the U.S. from Arizona, Utah, Colorado and as far north as Montana right now too as of about noon Sunday November 1st 2026.
I looked at the KSBW weather radar video loop and it looks like it hit San Diego and the Deserts like Borrego and the Mojave Desert pretty hard on it's way to the Arizona deserts too.
Whenever there is rain in the desert since there aren't many trees or none at all outside of creosote bushes and various cactus' and joshua trees you have to be especially careful of flash floods. So, especially at night when you can't see well be careful because you might not see that wall of water 2 to 6 feet high coming at you at various locations down those (Dry? Washes) that are dry most of the year except when they are flooding and really really dangerous.
Maybe you have heard my story in 1969 likely after I had bought my new 1968 Camaro and I was driving on a paved road near pioneertown where they used to make Western movies there and coming up to the dirt road heading up towards Big Bear when I saw a wall of water coming at me. Luckily I was young and quick when I saw this and burned rubber sideways to get out of there.
I was just lucky there was a paved road in the right direction so I wasn't killed in this flash flood and wall of water coming at me across the desert then.
So when I warn people of Flash Flooding in the deserts of California (or Arizona or Nevada or New Mexico or even west Texas) I speak from direct experiences of almost dying in these experiences myself.
