What does Lobsang mean in Tibetan?

So, my friend I met in 1983 who passed away since then's name meant "Spiritual Friend" (Geshe) Lobsang (good hearted, wise mind, or noble minded) and Gyatso "Ocean or Sea"

which is why he likely after he was cremated had his ashes put into the Pacific Ocean in California.

His Full name was Geshe Lobsang Gyatso. He was a Tibetan Lama and friend to my family from 1983 on.
