I woke up this morning to looking out my bathroom window to water dripping off the leaves of one of our many trees here. I thought to myself: "It must have rained last night while I was asleep." I walked out onto out deck in the back yard and set up the umbrella to shade me from the bright sunny day while watching the little fluffy clouds off the ocean meander across the sky today.
Then I had to wipe all the water off my glass table with a hole in the center of it to receive a beach umbrella or other kind because the water was as deep on it as was physically possible from the rain and the deck is as full of water basically as it can sustain without the water falling through in between the boards to the bare earth below.
It's really wonderful here in California to wake up and know it has rained because this usually means there won't be any fires nearby anytime soon. So, for a Californian unless there are mudslides or rockslides or flooding from the potentially 15 inches of rain that hits us in any good storm because of altitude differences from over 14,000 feet to sea level then we feel sort of okay about the rain.
But, usually rain in California is somewhat of a mixed blessing because if it's a big storm someone is going to be suffering somewhere especially anyone living below burn scars on the hills or mountains of California anywhere.
But, for right now here for me at least, rain is a blessing to prevent fires anywhere near me. So, this is Good!
