Oxygen is ONE of the reasons why humans are symbiotic with Trees

We breathe out carbon dioxide and Trees and plants and diatoms breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. But, without Trees, plants and diatoms humans cannot breathe oxygen because there will be no natural way to get oxygen anymore because it ALL will be in the form of Carbon dioxide. And humans cannot survive on carbon dioxide and will die one by one or in groups if that happens.

Humans are symbiotic with trees because of this and many other reasons. We also used to hide in trees from large predators or big herbivores angry at us.

For example, I had to run for my life and to save my wife's life in Nepal on the Terai running from White Rhinos. I had to push her up in a tree high enough so the rhinos couldn't get her and then run for the next tree and climb up and almost dislocated my right arm in the process but I made. Then the angry rhino during mating season rammed the tree I was in trying to dislodge me so he could kill me. Luckily the tree was about 1 foot in diameter so he couldn't knock the tree down to get at me and eventually he grew frustrated and walked away into the Terai forest.

So, the trees saved my wife and I from Rhinos in 1986 then reminiscent of humans hiding from lions, tigers, bears and crocodiles in Trees way back when. People still hide in trees in some countries from predators just to stay alive that day. So, oxygen and helping us stay alive are what trees are all about for humans. They are family and should always be protected if we want to breathe and to stay alive ongoing.
