Giving up meat and fish can be problematic if your diet isn't high protein enough

A few weeks ago I gave up all meat and fish completely. I felt 10 times better and not like I was going to die or something now at age 71. However, a few weeks later I'm not feeling that well. Why?

Because my body is trying to adjust to no meat and no fish and changing proteins I eat. The problem is there are family changes going on (like kids getting married and stuff like this and having to deal with an ex-wife (that I don't speak to anymore) at the wedding and this is stressful. Also, I haven't chosen wisely enough in what I have been eating and have eaten too much pasta and carbs in general.

So, my body is rebelling in that I'm maybe not balancing my proteins at this age enough for a body my age and I'm stressed about having to deal with my ex at a wedding with us not having resolved our stuff (even though we divorced 25 years ago we were married 14 years too) and raised 4 children together (3 to adulthood before we broke up). So, this is all very stressful and I haven't been as careful being a lacto ovo vegetarian likely as I need to be at this age for staying alive.

Note: Lacto ovo vegetarian means you eat milk products and egg products but not any meat or fish.

So, if you give up meat and fish monitor your blood sugar in how you feel (as in are you safe to drive) and watch out for fruit juices especially (if you are pre-diabetic like me) because in the last 6 months to a year if I drink fruit juices (especially mango or papaya juices) it is like drinking beer to a pre-diabetic and can make you not safe to drive a car or truck. So, be vigilant the older you are making changes to your diet and observe the changes to your health and mental and physical acuity as you go through these changes. In other words: "Stay alive! Your family and friends need you!"
