I thought this was very well expressed and shows how the way you think about things allows you to better survive all things in your life and not die as easily as in the past.

My father did this with me starting at age 8 years old to make me question whatever I thought in a useful way. If I could not defend my premises in life properly it made me think that possibly my point of view was not valid or based upon the truth.
Because of this I developed a series of questions about everything I experience in which I categorize literally everything into Hypotheses, Theories and Laws.
I have many many hypotheses of myself and other people. But, I'm always looking for proof of all the many many hypotheses as I study things in life ongoing. So, as I get more evidence I sometimes move a hypothesis to a Theory or a Theory to a Law.
So, what I believe to be true can change according the real evidence I find along the way. However, I'm very careful with all of this too because it is also very easy to be fooled by someone else's belief system along the way that you like. So, always put any idea through the rigors of your testing to see if it is valid before you accept that hypothesis as being potentially true.
Just because anyone tells you something is true doesn't mean it really is true. It might be true for them but not for you, for example. Sincerity has nothing to do with this.
Sincerity can be one of the most dangerous things in people simply because Crazy people are sincere often too. And this can get serious really fast so be careful.
