68 degrees right now on the beach near the SF Bay area

It's another really beautiful day without a cloud in the sky now which is amazing but wonderful here on the California coast. It is the kind of weather people move here for. Like I said in another article I was really amazed to see more people at the beach last Saturday than I had seen all last year. But, it's also true that more people tend to travel around Thanksgiving than almost any other time of the year to visit relatives and friends before the really horrific weather around the country actually tends to begin.

For example, when I need my gasoline powered generator is usually somewhere between January and the end of March where we might be without power for 1 day to 2 weeks. Often this includes no wifi or Cable TV too and often this also means no streaming because streaming is done through WIFI. However, this year it is likely after a day or two of this we likely will get a hotel and I just will have to return every 4 hours or so to refill the generator's gas tank at least from around 8 am to midnight most days to keep food in the refrigerator from spoiling. The cost of buying a small generator is often less than the amount of frozen and refrigerated food you will lose if you don't have a generator by the way.

However, it's important not to run a generator in your Garage, (especially if your garage has a hallway that leads to your Kitchen like mine does.

So, I bought from ACE Hardware a plastic Shed that bolts together were I can run my generator in any weather. However, if often leave the doors to the shed open so the exhaust from the generator doesn't kill the engine. So, in these situations it's live and learn a lot.

For example, last fall the Motorcycle shop mechanics that sold me the Yamaha generator told me that the carburetor jets are so small that I need to start the generator up once every two weeks so it continues to run for me year around. So, every two weeks we have started it up since last winter for 5 to 10 minutes to keep the carburetor jets unclogged and working.

Anyway, at least for now I don't have to worry about that because at least right now no storms in sight.
