Is because our culture denies the existence of Men.
Or better said, "It denies men have valid feelings different than what women want them to have.
Always men are men around themselves but have to speak a different language around women which is much more polite.
So, traditionally, men become much more polite and somewhat because of this politeness more dishonest around women. Mostly men haven't had to be dishonest in this sense around men because other men will understand what is going on with these men.
So, Now men are expected to not have men's feelings and men's feelings are considered to be bad by the present culture.
So, when Trump shows up and is unabashedly the traditional male (whether women like this or not) and reviled by many women because he never goes into "Polite Talk" even around women (for whatever the reason) Not sure why, men respond to this and think. "Yes. This guy says it like it is in an unvarnished way"
This would especially appeal to blue collar men who never went to college and who are the most upset with the changes in the world regarding women since the 1950s.
The loss of strength of Males in our society is unbelievable at this point. Men are encouraged to deny their feelings and never allowed to speak about what is really important to them EVER around women.
It's not that women didn't need more rights it's that men's rights have reduced as women's rights have gained and men are really really ANGRY about their loss of rights (especially ALL Heterosexual men who only date and marry women).
So, on one level it was inevitable that between Political Correctness and women's rights that someone like Trump would lead the nation. But, into What?
That is the big question. Though I think Women should be terrified of Trump I think that all men need to be equally terrified of Trump now too, especially with the cabinet picks so far which likely will destroy the inner workings of our country and bureaucracy and possibly completely destroy it permanently in the meantime.
However, this article isn't about that it's about how men finally got their way (blue collar men) of electing someone as raw and unvarnished as they often are.
