Since the biggest of waves are gone and people aren't being washed away (at least for now):

People are returning to the beaches once again. I went down and was surprised the beach was mostly gone on one of my favorite local beaches and the rocks invisible in summer now often 10 feet tall on the beach that are buried during the summer. I went down and I was the only one on the beach but I guess many people and their dogs followed my lead. I was surprised when I headed back to where I had parked my truck. It is peaceful at the beaches once more and you don't feel like you are taking your life in your hands like before with 25 foot and 30 foot waves and sneaker waves coming in when you least expected them. So, it's sort of nice to be back to a more normal and less threatening wave action for this time of year.

The other thing that is nice is that the days (Since December 21st) are getting longer once again until June 21st when they will get shorter again. We are already getting our sunsets back to 5:03 pm now after they went I think down to 4:45 pm around the shortest day of the year.

However, this likely will be the coldest night so far here on the coast and inland too at least so far in the winter season. 42 here but below freezing some places tonight or early tomorrow morning.
