I went outside and it had made it up to 58 degrees by noon with an expected high of 59 for the day. It looks like temperatures will stay around this for a high between 56 and 60 for highs at least until next Monday or so. However, Tuesday it is supposed to be 63 degrees again which will be nice.
So far, the rains have been beneficial except for the high winds that brought down the 100 foot tree into our neighbor's and our yard earlier in December. I temporarily replaced the broken rails made of timber tech plastic wood until I can maybe find some that matches that replaces this well made synthetic wood. We had an all Redwood Deck before but it isn't financially or ecologically practical to replace something like this these days so we went with plastic wood on top with a douglas fir structure to support it all underneath. I used wood screw nails to temporarily replace the broken rails from the tree coming down. Luckily, the tree did not destroy the hot tub and just dented the foam cover some instead. Luckily, it was waterlogged so it absorbed the blow of the 100 foot tall pine tree because it was near the top of the tree when it fell. However, a couple of younger oaks were damaged or destroyed in our yard in our yard and our neighbor's yard were destroyed by the tree fall. My wife heard it come down at around 6 AM earlier in December. I turned the hot tub on because the rains have stopped for now.
The low tonight is about 45 degrees here on the coast but inland it likely will be freezing some places.
