The H-1B visa is a visa used by well trained computer professionals and others especially from India for Graduates of IIT or India Institute of Technology which is the MIT of India. They are usually better trained than most Software programmers in the U.S. and likely will work for less and work more hours than Americans would tend to because of conditions in India compared to the U.S.
So, a lot of the programming on everything you and I use is from these programmers and software designers from India from IIT there in India.
It helps our whole tech industry that they are allowed to come here and work from especially India and other techs trained in various other countries with good training and skills.
