You become a part of the problem preventing life on earth from continuing.
So, educating yourself on how life on earth can continue is how life on earth does continue as each of us learn more about how to actually do this.
If you think about it who destroys the capacity for life on earth the most?
It isn't countries really at all.
It's really large corporations especially multi-nationals that put profit above sustainability.
I was watching Chief of War Last night and (Plot spoiler) (If you want to watch this don't read this part) in I think Episode 7.
The palefaces (ship with an American Flag) come to the big Island of Hawaii to harvest Sandlewood for profit. However, they are sent away by the local Hawaiian Government. Then the Palefaces are pissed off because they are sent away so they shoot nails out of their cannons back onto the shore into a village. In some ways it has always been the businessmen who put profit above human beings that have destroyed human civilization more than nation states.
This is just one example of how nature and people are raped out of being alive here on earth.
Without sustainability life ends on earth.
For example, only about 1 billion people can live on earth on the surface of earth without entirely destroying it for any life on earth to exist at all.
If you begin to understand this then you see already we moved past sustainability by the early 1800s as a human race.
So, the question Becomes: "HOW DOES THE HUMAN RACE RETURN TO SUSTAINABILITY AS A RACE HERE ON EARTH WHERE WE DON'T ACCIDENTALLY EXTINCT ALL LIFE ON EARTH?"
THIS IS ACTUALLY MAYBE THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION THE HUMAN RACE NEEDS TO BE ASKING ON A DAILY BASIS.
Without asking these important questions human life and all life on earth will end in the next 3 centuries. This is a given at this point.
However, Though 1 billion people is the maximum amount of people that could be sustained for thousands of years it is also likely true that if people moved underground to reduce energy consumption (primarily heating and cooling of their homes) that we might be able to sustain 10 to 15 billion people ongoing for thousands of years.
Why?
Because we could have the surface of the earth only for farming and recreation and that's all and maybe take down all or most structures we build to this end. We could Unpave the world because Cement and Asphalt only heats up the ground and brings about more global Warming and the melting of glaciers and the rising of Sea Levels.
It's also possible that what we are presently doing is hastening either another ice Age or hastening the planet to turning into A place like Venus with temperatures 600 to 800 degrees Fahrenheit too.
So, how do we turn our planet back into the Garden of Eden it once was?
Without the Garden, without Wildness and nature and animals and birds and dolphins and life on earth we all die here anyway.
So, finding a way for people and animals and birds and fish to all live together peacefully is how any of us survive here at all.
