This is the way I presently understand this but I have a lot to learn obviously too still.
Basically, Earth is a retirement home for basically immortal beings.
How does this work?
Earth is considered a relatively pristine place to retire and become a human being.
Why would Creators of the Galaxy want to incarnate as human beings?
I think it's because it's sort of like how older humans on earth read and watch TV and see movies.
It's a challenge and often entertaining to live in a human body here on earth. There is enough stress to force you to continue to live and not just die of boredom in a human body here on earth.
In fact, unless you are on top of staying alive usually you don't.
So, it's a way to continue to be interested in living enough to stay alive for beings millions or billions of years old to begin with.
Why do they try and stay alive? For much the same reasons as we do as humans which is for our children and grandchildren and friends and for the continuity and well being of the entire human race.
