How I accomplished Re-parenting during my 20s

My parents were well meaning parents like most people. However, they were not equipped to help me through childhood traumas like Whooping cough and later at age 9 a concussion that caused me to have seizures often at night for 5 years between ages 10 and 15.

So, when I studied psychology in College when I was around 21 years old I realized I could heal myself by re-parenting myself.

I found the easiest method (for me personally) was through writing and playing and writing music on piano and Guitar. So, I used all these methods to heal myself.

The basic concept (as I understood it) is to see that you might be physically an adult but your mind might be in an adapted Child (another word for this is wounded Child) State from traumas in your childhood or young adulthood. After you are about 30 years old often you have more psychological tools to survive when Traumas occur in your life.

However, as a child we are all vulnerable to whatever happens to us on all levels. And so as an adult we must address these problems or else we might be too dysfunctional to do well in life. So, healing your Inner child is the key to having a life worth living at all here on earth.

For most of you, if you are not trained musicians like myself so writing might be the best way to heal yourselves. Also, you can talk with friends or relatives if you trust them and feel good about sharing with them as well. The point is, healing yourself allows you to better survive in your life. This is why this is a good idea so you don't get into PTSD like many soldiers get into which is much harder to address.

Generally speaking, Medical PTSD is easier to address than Soldier's PTSD because often soldier's PTSD has to do with having to Kill people or watch people die. This is really hard to help people heal from this.
