If you have ever been to the Himalayas or Nepal(I have in 1985 and 1986) then you understand the geography there. Kathmandu is basically right in a valley below Mt. Everest and other Himalayan Peaks. So, if you are having blizzards this bad in the Himalayas you likely are going to also have flooding in places like Kathmandu Nepal which is basically at the base of the Himalayan Mountains there next to Mt. Everest. However, this is pretty bad that they might lose 1000 climbers from all over the world if they don't get to them in time to keep them alive. If you are above 16,000 feet it is always pretty cold at this altitude and almost always windy and below freezing and a tent in a blizzard often collapses under the weight of the snow. I have seen this first hand happen to people here in the U.S. at altitude. So, if you are not going outside of your tent every hour or two to remove the snow your tent will collapse with you inside of it. So, all this, the cold, the altitude, the blizzard and people trying to stay alive in these conditions could mean many of these 1000 climbers might not make it which would be quite a disaster for many different people.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
