One of the harder things in Europe is finding news (or anything on TV you understand) on TV and getting English Subtitles

You wouldn't think this wouldn't be a problem necessarily but it is. When you are traveling (at least this is true for me), you are looking for comfort in that you are trying to find a place where you feel at home at least in your hotel room because everything is so different where you are. So, trying to find some solace in TV is very hard simply because finding English Subtitles or anything in English other than CNN which is an International English speaking station is often hard.

However, the beauty of ancient architecture, how interesting the people are in various different ways, the feeling of being "Safer presently in Europe than I do in the U.S. now". All these things are true for me at least.

My experience of Trump is completely horrific with no redeeming value at all as a president and many Americans feel he is destroying EVERYTHING best about America and turning it into a place much worse than many places on earth. So, because of this I feel presently much much safer in Europe than I do in the U.S.

However, if you are thinking of moving here this might not work either. For example, your taxes if you live in Europe are often 60% to 70% of your income. Then if you immigrate here you have to convert your dollars to Euros which could be a problem especially if you have investments in the U.S. Stock market.

Even when people move from California to Texas they feel raped Financially by the system  in place in California and moving to Europe it will be the same or even worse because of high income taxes in Europe because of advanced Social Programs to feed and house the hungry in their countries.

So, trying to move to Europe (unless you are a student and only doing this temporarily) could be extremely problematic if you are older than 30 to 35 years old.

Believe me I have considered this a lot.

So, at this point if I felt the U.S. was so unsafe I wanted to move to some other country that country would likely be Canada First. However, then you have to deal with the weather in Canada which can be very cold in the winters there. So, there is always something to think about in regard to seriouslyy  moving anywhere.

The story of my wife's parents friends who moved to Mexico because of Nixon in those years might be the best example here. They were very rich people but in moving to Mexico they were required to convert all their dollars to Pesos. Then the Peso Collapsed leaving them with almost nothing but having once been rich Americans.

The Dollar likely will remain fairly stable (even with Trump as President) and even if he triggers a Great Depression with Tariffs. So, as long as you are invested properly in the stock market for these kinds of changes  you might be okay.

However, often in the Great Depression Bonds were a better bet than stocks. However, now dynamics have changed in the U.S. so I don't know if this is true. So, maybe owning your real estate outright (paid for completely) might be something you want to think about in these times.

By God's Grace
