I highly recommend writing a little every day so you understand yourself better. I know that Women more than men tend to talk a lot among themselves. Men are more like Bears in a cave where they work through problems more on their own (at least traditionally) although people are much different now than when I grew up in the 1950s I guess.
However, whoever you are writing can be helpful as you seek to discover who you are in relation to the world. It often isn't obvious to people until they start to write out their feelings and thoughts.
Would I even be alive if I didn't write down my thoughts? Not Sure at this point.
Because I started to write more at age 8 when my cousin who was 16 broke his neck in a traffic accident and died after saying: "Is everyone all right?" Then he turned his head and because his neck was broken he died. This would have been in 1956 in Seattle, Washington and I was living in Glendale, California then and I remember how vulnerable I felt at age 8 with someone in my family dying like that.
So, since I was an only child with a father and mother and grandmother living with us I sought to understand all this better through self counseling through writing.
Often when you don't understand something that is going on in your life if you write down your feelings and thoughts you can work through the problem and find a solution to your problems.
For example, Going to college I found is that the most important thing you learn in college is how to Formulate "Good Questions" which then save your life and other's lives too the rest of your life.
So, the most valuable thing you might ever do in life is to ask the right questions at the right time which will save people's lives around you including your own.
If you can ask the right question or questions and then put those questions out online you have 8 billion people potentially to help you answer those questions.
You might ask the right question in this way that saves all mankind from Extinction!
