Present Population of the U.S. 348 million. However, the median age surprised me the most of 38.7 years old

why does the median age surprise me? Because I believe when I was growing up with Baby boomers it was around 25 years old which shows just how much the U.S. is aging in it's population like China and Europe and Japan.
