Fibber McGee and Molly was what I Iistened to from about age 4 to 6 on the radio (I was 6 when we bought our first 17 inch black and white TV)

My grandmother and I might have listened to this as early as Seattle when I was 3 or 4 so this could have been as early as 1951 or 1952 when I was 3 and 4 years old. It came on at night before my bedtime. another show we listened to was Gildersleave.

Fibber McGee and Molly (TV Series 1959–1960) - IMDb
Fibber McGee and Molly was a highly popular American radio comedy (1935–1959) starring real-life husband and wife Jim and Marian Jordan. The show, set at 79 Wistful Vista, followed the blowhard Fibber and his patient wife, known for, among other things, the comedic "hall closet" gag where a massive pile of items would come crashing down.
Key Details About the Show:
  • Characters/Actors: Jim Jordan (Fibber McGee) and Marian Jordan (Molly) starred, supported by Bill Thompson (as Wallace Wimple/Old Timer), Harold Peary (Gildersleeve), and others.
  • Running Gag/Closet:
The hall closet at their home was a recurring gag. Molly would warn Fibber not to open it, only for him to ignore her, resulting in a comical, noisy cascade of junk.
  • Catchphrase: Molly's famous, often-repeated catchphrase was, "T'ain't funny, McGee!".
  • Origins: The show was developed by the Jordans after years of performing in vaudeville and radio, peaking in popularity during the 1940s when it was a top-rated program.
  • Sponsor: The show was famously presented by Johnson Wax, manufacturer of Glo-Coat.

The show transitioned to television in 1959, although it is best remembered as a cornerstone of "old-time radio".
