At age 15 I decided to become Enlightened

I could always remember being a lawyer, a judge, a carpenter, a business man for thousands of years of incarnations here on earth and I had had enough of all that. So, I decided at age 15 that the most useful thing for myself and mankind for me to do was to become fully enlightened. So, instead of a career this became my goal.

However, you still have to finance your goal in this world or you are likely going to starve to death so also I realized I didn't like working for other people because I had already done that ever since I had a Newspaper route with the Glendale News Press in California when I was 10 years old. I had experienced being taken advantage of financially in every way by age 21 of working various places and I realized I wanted to own my own business like my father, my uncle, my Grandfather and my cousin. So, this I also moved forward with.

However, to wear enough hats to own your own business on your own (without family help) I found I could succeed at this starting around age 28 or 29 by Getting a C-27 or a Landscaper Contracting license. Then I realized I wasn't hard nosed enough to deal with some of my customers but I still realized I liked owning a business. So, I moved from Contracting to Mail order and also delivery types of businesses. So, I started with a Cottage industry starting in my garage sort of like Steve Jobs and Wozniak started Apple computer in Steve Jobs' father's garage when they were young and just starting out.

But, always under all this making a living stuff was my goal of becoming fully enlightened. And my father and mother encouraged me in this too. So, though they were Christian Mystic ministers when I was 6 to 12 years old who ran their own church in Los Angeles from 1954 to 1960 they also supported me in becoming fully enlightened too by studying teachings from around the world. EVentually, my father and I read together "My Life in Tibet" By J. Edwin Dingle who had a Science of Mental Physics in Joshua Tree and Frank Lloyd Wright designed his church and grounds there in Joshua tree so I think it is still there.

My father and I built a retirement home on weekends not too far from there between Yucca Valley and Landers on his 2 1/2 Acres of land too from 1968 until 1980 when he retired there with my mother.

Eventually reading this book and studying History of Religion with my friend who was studying this at UCLA we both got interested in Buddhism especially Tibetan Buddhism because it suited both our mind streams.

So, in 1983 I started studying more about Tibetan Buddhism through various Tibetan Lamas in Oregon and California and then I went to India and Nepal for 4 or 5 months with my family in 1985 through about April of 1986 and went to Bodhgaya, and Dharamshala and we all received in Bodhgaya the Kalachakra Tantra along with 500,000 other people there in December of 1985.

So, these 4 or 5 months changed all our lives a lot and we all sort of became more Citizens of the world and all my children have become world travelers since then as adults.

And at 78 I still am working on Enlightenment because enlightenment isn't just one thing it is many things as you evolve in life. I am constantly learning more every single day.

What I believed enlightenment was at age 15 is different than my experience of it now and most of the way to here to 78 years of age.

Now I would say enlightenment is having compassion for all life in the universe and yourself.

This is the key to everything you might want in life.

Without compassion for yourself and all others you cannot go very far in life at all.

So, enlightenment is having an unlimited consciousness where you don't get stuck anywhere.

By God's Grace
