When I was young in my late teens and early twenties I looked around me at people my age and saw how the ones that died or went crazy often were not facing their problems. After dealing with my own problems and running away from them some I realized this could be fatal. Then I realized only by being brave enough to face your problems head on could a young person survive their lives at all.
So, I decided to be brave and always hit head on my problems.
It's one of the many reasons I'm still alive today at age 78 after watching so many of my generation die or go crazy along the way from not facing their problems when they were small enough to deal with.
When you run from your problems it can be fatal. Understanding this is wisdom.
So, only by facing problems when they are small enough to deal with can you survive many things in life.
Otherwise molehills become insurmountable mountains and then you are either crazy or dead one of the two.
Understanding this is survival in life, physical, mental and spiritual and emotional survival.
