The "New" Star Wars Phenomenon

Likely it's because J.J. Abrams the director was 11 years old in 1977 when it first came out (I was 29 then) and took my 3 year old son to see it to a drive-in theater in Sunland in Southern California I believe next to Tujunga then. He has been a Star Wars fan every since and is now 41.

The new 'The Force Awakens'  is done using a lot of the ideas that Lucas employed in the first one. Several relatively unknown actors alongside old favorites like Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford (from the first three Star wars movies) also make people want to go see this movie.

So, even 38 years later the new Star Wars "The Force Awakens"  holds up and is making a fortune worldwide.

Is it the best one ever made? NO. I think the first one that came out in 1977 was the best. However, it might be the 2nd best or even the 4th best (depending upon your point of view) regarding all movies in the series so far.

The problem with 1,2, and 3 which came out in the 1990s I believe is that too much attention was given to CGI Graphics and not enough attention was pain to characters and plot line relatively speaking.

However, graphics now are better integrated into more movies and people have sort of gotten over themselves and realized that character development is really important for viewers if they want to really be able to relate to a movie and what it is about. (Unless you are only going to be playing a video game where you might not care as much about character development.

However, it might be important for people worldwide to know that much more money is made on Video games worldwide now than is made on movies. So this likely is a factor too.

However, J J Abrams demonstrates that he loves the Star Wars mystique as much as some of the most hardened developed fans do in regard to how well he made this movie by making it similar to the first of them and in this sense the closest to the best so far.
