The best off road vehicle I ever owned was a 1974 6 cylinder IH Scout II:

However, the clutch was so stiff it blew out my ex-wife's knee in heavy traffic on the freeway one day so I had to spell her driving long distance in traffic that day.

Also, when I say that a Scout II IH is the best off road vehicle I ever owned I'm NOT saying it was the best On road vehicle that is or was 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive at all.

The best on road all wheel drive which was an award winner in the SUV class likely was my 2000 Lexus full time 4wheel drive RX300.

The best On Road Truck I have ever owned that is still amazing off road is my 2011 Toyota Tundra which I can drive down the road at 70 or 80 miles per hour in overdrive and when new it got 20 mpg regularly on the road as long as it was only me and my luggage driving down the freeway. With this truck the extreme ground clearance has allowed me to literally drive over boulders up to 2 to 3 feet in diameter while driving across mountain rivers in 4 wheel drive low range at under 5 miles and hour.

But, for just pushing 2 to 3 feet of unplowed snow on a road (without a snow blade) the 1974 IH Scout II could literally push the most unplowed snow of any  vehicle I have ever owned to the point where if you got that thing stuck in 2 to 3 feet of unplowed snow it might take 6 months at that time to get your vehicle out of there because no one else could even get to it in that deep of snow. part of the reason for this is a 1974 IH Scout II had or has a locked rear end that kicks in as soon as one rear wheel slips so then both rear wheels are pulling along with one or both front wheels as well.
