Because I simply could not replace it with anything that I really wanted.
First of all, I got the small V-8 then that got 20 miles per gallon that has a 6 speed overdrive with high and low range 4 wheel drive as well as the standard 2 wheel drive.
When I considered replacing my 2011 Tundra I went to check everything out.
First of all, I couldn't get the 20 mpg small V-8. Instead I could only get a Hybrid that got 23 miles per gallon.
Why would I want a hybrid that gets only 23 mpg when I already have a 20 MPG V-8 with a 6 speed transmission including overdrive?
So, changing vehicles didn't make any sense to me at this point. besides during Chipageddon I could sell my truck for more than I bought it for at that point.
So, when will I change Trucks?
My point of view is now as long as this truck takes me where I want to go, why should I change trucks if I can't buy newer version of what I already have? It's better to keep a vehicle that you have maintained even though I have driven it about 140,000 miles already. However, this power plant is known to be good for at least 300,000 miles without rebuilding it as long as it is well maintained like I make sure I do with this truck.
Besides we have two other cars one of which gets 28 miles per gallon on the road and isn't a hybrid or an electric either.
Also, this Tundra is amazing in snow and off road driving and it rides like a Cadillac or Lexus too on the open road and yet has the leg room and head room of a Mercedes or other German car that are built for tall people.
