Just like the weather people already said it started raining tonight and starting to melt the around 2 feet of snow that fell on Interstate 5 north of Fawndale in Redding up to Yreka and Ashland,Oregon all along Interstate 5.
So, as the snow melts mostly during the next two days it should be easier to drive north once again on Interstate 5.
Only 50 vehicles per hour are being allowed to travel north from Redding up Interstate 5 so trying to do this would be extremely time consuming and potentially dangerous at best because of the snow having not melted out yet and during the night it could snow more before turning to rain by sometime tomorrow morning.
