I can remember being 9 years old in Grade School and the Orchestra people was trying to get people to join the orchestra and learn a new instrument. When he played this song on his violin this convinced me to play the violin like my 5 years older cousin did who eventually was first violin at Glendale High school in the orchestra there. He also played the Glockenspiel for the Glendale High Dynamiters in the 1960 Rose Parade for Glendale, Califronia then too. I played the violin including in the all city orchestra in 1960 at Hoover High school but by age 14 (since I'm 6 foot 5) my hands became too big for playing violin well because there are no frets on a violin like on a guitar. So, I gave up the violin in Junior High and taught myself the guitar (both acoustic and electric) and taught myself to play the flute as well both metal and wood and plastic flutes. I had already learned the piano from ages 8 to 16 when I took private lessons once a week with Mildred Hall my piano teacher then so from 1958 until 1964.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future

The song is about a monster that people think “eats people” when it really eats “purple people” and just wants to be in a rock band.

Flying purple people.
That's the reason they're highly endangered. Their natural diet is also
about to go extinct-- due to all those unnatural flying critters.
