My wife and daughter and her daughter and husband and I took a carriage ride through the city tonight

Since there is a lot of history here I noticed that one building said it was built in the 1500s. The hotel we are staying in was built in 1896 by the way. In 1999 I remember staying someplace originally built with hand hewn timber in the 1400s as well in Zurich, Switzerland as well. There are older buildings and Churches here dating back until at least 1600 or before as well.

There were black plagues that killed literally half of Europe's people between the 1200s and 1700s so there are churches and other monuments that have been built to memorialize these disasters where 1 out of every 2 people died during these times.

Also, those who survived had incredible immunity because they hadn't died.

So when these colonists from Europe came to the U.S. they brought these diseases with them which killed about 90% of all native Americans after the first white people arrived from Europe here in the U.S. The white trappers who preceeded white buildings brought these diseases first to the Native Americans. By the time that the white Settlers arrived 90% of the Native Americans had already died of various diseases like Flu and smallpox.

But, riding a carriage through an ancient city is an amazing experience with all the history and such. It made us feel a part of history to be riding in such an ornate open horse Carriage the 5 of us (including my daughter's 1 year old baby girl.
