Once you get the concept of how to program in any language it is relatively easy to learn any other computer language too if you are interested in learning about this.
My first two languages in 1966 and 1967 in college led to learning the Basic Language first on Home Computers starting in 1978 with an 800 dollar TRS-80 where you stored your programs on Cassette Tape. However, I didn't buy another computer until they were more practical in 1987. Then I bought a 1987 AT computer IBM Clone with a Color Epson Printer both for a total of around 2500 Dollars then in 1987.
The last last computer language I have learned so far is HTML which is the basis of everything you are reading here now (even though there are related languages like Java that might also be used somewhat based upon the HTML Format. HTML simply means Hypertext markup Language which is used primarily for Internet web pages of all sorts.
Though most of the time I now use an encoder which automatically codes everything I write here at Blogger.com (Blogspot) I still know how to program in HTML. However, doing this (programming) takes about 90% or more longer than letting Compose here at this site do it for me. So now, mostly I only program (by using a HREF Template) in making Links pages for you to see the most read articles here pretty much weekly during the year.
By the Way COBOL and FORTRAN are still used today because they run much faster than present computer languages. The more recent the languages the more layers there are of information which makes them run much slower than COBOL and FORTRAN.
So, when time running is an issue (and it is for some companies) they use COBOL and FORTRAN still.
COBOL is a Business Language and FORTRAN is a Scientific Computer Language by the way.
There are different programming languages for doing different things.
