What Countries Border Austria? Austria is bordered by eight countries: Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein.

I already knew that Germany, Switzerland and Italy bordered Austria from Geography classes in Grade school through High School in the 1950s and 1960s (I graduated High School in  1966). However, I knew there likely were more than I knew about just from traveling around Austria this time.
