California avalanche victims were close friends and 'passionate, skilled skiers'

When I was in the middle of an avalanche I had been skiing since 1963 when I was 15 years old so I was a very skilled skier (especially in Cross Country and Mountaineering Skiing). However, I also found myself in a situation with about an Acre of snow traveling down Mt. Shasta because Avalanches are not always obvious when they happen (they just happen). You don't know when a sound or just you skiing over a section of snow is going to set things loose. (it's sort of like the last Straw that breaks the camel's back like that. So, in some ways there are obvious places where avalanches may occur but most cannot really be predicted absolutely. So, this is why they are saying to skiers and snowboarders right now (STAY OUT OF THE BACK COUNTRY OF THE SIERRAS RIGHT NOW) BECAUSE IT WON'T BE OBVIOUS RIGHT NOW WHICH AREAS ARE DANGEROUS AND WHICH ARE NOT DANGEROUS!

YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO TELL EVEN IF YOU ARE AN EXPERT LIKE I WAS IN THE 1980S FROM SKIING BACK COUNTRY PLACES SINCE 1963 OR LIKELY OVER 20 YEARS ALREADY THEN!

 begin quote:

Nine people, including several guides, are presumed dead in the Sierra Nevada avalanche, which was the worst in backcountry skiing's history.
